Geographic distribution: in warm, shallow waters between east Africa to Vanuatu.Threats from the habitat:Dugongs are threatened by sea grass habitat loss or polllution. If there is not enough sea grass to eat then the dugong does not breed normally.They also often become victims of the accidental entanglement in fishing nets.
Enemies and survival
Dugongs are omnivorous, theyre prey is sea grass, algae and flowers. they can stay underwater for 6 minutes before resurfacing
Theyre predators are sharks and humans.
Dugongs have a symbiotic relationship with remoras. The remora eats parasites that might be living on their skin. The dugong provides the remora with protection from larger predators. Dugongs also have a symbiotic relationship with the sea grass. They eat the seagrass to the root allowing it to regrow
